SSD Boost: Extend Your Smartphone's Flash Memory Life
SSD Boost is a free Android application developed by Andrea Pucci in the Utilities & Tools category. The app aims to optimize the performance and extend the life of your smartphone's internal flash memory, which uses solid-state technology SSD/emmc. As the cells of the memory degrade over time, the app minimizes writings to your SSD, increasing speed and extending the life of your storage.
The app also helps to improve your phone's responsiveness in the startup of applications, increase battery endurance, and decrease the phone's temperature. It works as a workaround for the insane process running in the background that keeps writing to disc. This has been experienced from Android ICS version to Android 10 (both stock and custom).
It is important to note that the app requires a rooted phone. Additionally, check the presence of Brickbug if you have Samsung Galaxy R, Samsung Galaxy SII, Samsung Galaxy Note, Samsung Galaxy Nexus, or Samsung Epic 4G Touch before installing. The app has recently added support for TRIM command and NOATIME, NOADIRATIME, overtaking LagFix (fstrim) limitation, and supporting Android 5 Lollipop.
